Pillars of BrahMos

 Dr. H Yefremov

Dr KalamYefremov, Herbert Alexandrovich, a design engineer and professor of Technical Sciences, headed JSC "MIC" "NPOM" from 1991 till 2009 as Director General and Designer General. He has been involved in design and development of various technologies related to space, cruise and ballistic missiles during his more than 50 years of career in NPOM. He is one of the founders of the Indo-Russian joint venture BrahMos along with Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

Dr. Yefremov is an author of numerous technical papers leading to the development of various systems. He has been honoured with the 'Hero of Socialist Labour', the 'Lenin Prize' and the 'USSR State Prize' by the Russian Government. He is also the recipient of 'Padma Bhushan' from the Government of India for his outstanding contribution in the formation of BrahMos.
