Defence Minister congratulates BRAHMOS for successful launch
Brahmand.com (March 29, 2012) Print This NewsNEW DELHI: Indian Defence Minister AK Antony Thursday visited the BrahMos pavilion at the Defexpo and congratulated the team for the successful launch of BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile system on Wednesday.
The Block III variant of BRAHMOS missile with advanced guidance algorithm was successfully test fired from Integrated Test Range, Balasore on March 28. The cruise missile was test fired as part of user trial by the Indian Army.
Defexpo India 2012, the largest ever defence exposition in Asia, kick started Thursday at the Pragati Maidan, here. The Defence Minister inaugurated the four-day event.
The exhibition is dedicated to global land, naval and internal security systems business activity - from suppliers to manufacturers and technology providers to services.
During his visit to the BrahMos pavilion Mr Antony was welcomed by AS Pillai, CEO and MD BrahMos Aerospace. The Defence Minister also released a book 'Brahmand World Defence Update 2012' on the occasion.
The Indian-Russian joint venture company is the producer of the world's only supersonic cruise missile BRAHMOS.
