BrahMos Work Centres
BrahMos Headquarters Complex, New Delhi
On September 23, 2002, the foundation stone of the BrahMos complex was laid by Dr. A Sivathanu Pillai, CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace in the presence of Dr. Alexander G Leonov, Director General of NPOM and Chairman, BrahMos Board along with senior officers from DRDO and NPOM. Within a short span of two years, an ultra modern facility was set up, housing various technical and commercial departments.
H E Vladimir V Putin, the then President of Russian Federation, inaugurated the complex on December 4, 2004. Former Indian Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, former Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov and former Indian External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh were present on the occasion.
The complex serves as the Corporate Headquarters housing the Design Centre and other departments.
BrahMos Design Centre provides single point solution to all kinds of design, production, analysis, and installation interface for different weapon platforms. It works out the details for total solutions to weapon platforms designed by means of structural analysis, design of foundations, structural integration, alignment checks, layout optimization, EMI/ EMC checks, application of relevant standards, development of test materials and procedures.
Emphasis is laid on the total work package solution starting from designing to support production, including preparation of drawings and documents, quality plans, project management, providing design solutions to production issues.
Training & Documentation
The department prepares documents necessary for users to operate and repair the weapon systems, besides imparting training and technical knowledge to various users (classroom instructions, practical and on-job training).
Simulation and Interface
Designing and development of various systems interface and simulators are carried out by this department using object modelling technique:
- Virtual war gaming simulation for Route planning, Trajectory & dynamics and Real-time 3-D visualisation
- Weapon platform Equipment Simulators and Data acquisition systems design, involves the generation of quantitative/qualitative features that describe completely operation of the devices on virtual platform
- Designing embedded system based application/object-emulator for Real-time HIL (Hardware in Loop Simulation) solution
The department looks after the activities related to business development within and outside the joint venture countries by maintaining a friendly environment with organisations using BrahMos products. Business promotion activities are planned and carried out ensuring complete satisfaction of its user organisations.
A strong product support system backed by experienced and proactive team forms the backbone of the organisation for the BrahMos Weapon System.
The product support cell plans and coordinates all the activities related with advance stocking of critical components, management of spares, management of life cycle of all sub-systems and carries out the repair and maintenance work of already delivered systems.
The Market Promotion department is primarily responsible for sensitising the international arms market with the capabilities of BRAHMOS Weapon Complex through interaction with press and media, participation and promotion of the system through exhibitions and conferences around the world by organising high level meetings and presentations to potential users in India, Russia and friendly countries.
It also handles press releases and promotional campaigns through advertisements and editorial support in defence journals and publications. Release of bulletins, brochures, posters, and updating of the website are part of its activities. Overall, the Market Promotion department is the interface of the organisation with the users, potential countries, and media.
Application Software Development
The department is involved in designing, development and maintenance of the BrahMos website and provides support to Simulation and Interface for different software requirements and des gning in-house applications that are used by different departments.
The technical and the content teams coordinate with each other to maintain and update the website. They are supported by Business Development and Market Promotion departments in carrying out their activities.
BrahMos Aerospace Knowledge Centre
BrahMos is a high-tech, knowledge intensive organization and have large number of technical staff. BrahMos Aerospace Knowledge Centre is situated at New Delhi and Hyderabad. As part of BrahMos, BMKC endeavors to access, acquire, organize, preserve, and disseminate recorded information and knowledge to support the research and informational needs of the BrahMos Members. It caters to the information needs of BrahMos members by providing right information to the users in least time using Information and Communication Technologies. BMKC handles all queries on technical/non technical issues raised by members. BMKC collate standards & specifications on issues. BMKC provides data on all related developments and information on latest scientific advances.
BrahMos Integration Complex, Hyderabad
The Production unit of BrahMos Aerospace is located at Hyderabad where the integration of the missile takes place at BrahMos Integration Complex (BIC).
The complex comprises of two major integration bays: one for integration of mechanical systems and the other for assembling electrical/electronic systems.
All the missile subsystems being fabricated at various work centres in India and Russia are delivered at BIC where the missiles are integrated and checked. The complex consists of mechanical and electrical integration facility, fuel filling, magazine storage, bonded stores, other infrastructure and management system.
BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Limited (BATL)
BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Limited was formed after BrahMos took over KELTEC in December 2007. This unit has production structure for aerospace components and systems for meeting the needs of ISRO, DRDO, BARC and other aerospace industries.
